2012 Bulls

We have 10 bulls at home and 6 bulls at the Michigan bull test.  Three of the bulls at home will be offered at the MSU Beef Expo on March 31, 2012.   The bull test bulls will be sold on March 17, 2012 at Crystal, MI.  These bulls were born between January and March of 2011.  Each will have a breeding soundness evaluation and will be ready for service.

Y26 is a long, deep bodied Networth son.  He was born February 2, 2011 out of a Blackcap cow.  He will be sold at the MSU Beef Expo in East Lansing, March 31.

Y84  is a January 11, 2011 Bismarck son.  He is a growthy bull from the Lucy family.  He will be at the MSU Expo in March.

Branch County Fair

Paul is congratulating Quentin Blonde for receiving a Reserve Champion in the heavy weight division.

Bulls

106 is a calving ease Nicholls Extra son. DOB: 3/18/10

1451 is a calving ease Final Answer son. DOB: 1/25/10

96 is a high growth, long-sided herd bull prospect. He is a Tradition son.

DOB: 1/23/10

All bulls have passed a reproduction test and are ready to service your cows. These bulls are mature enough to handle a good number of cows.

MSU EXPO

X 205 is a granddaughter of ForeverLady 7120. The sire is BC Raven. DOB: 1-21-10

X206 is from the Rita cow family. The sire is Net Worth. DOB: 1-22-10

Bull X119 is from a cow out of Traveler 004. The sire is EXAR 263C. DOB: 3-23-10

9169 is from Traveler 004 on the dam side. The sire is Midland. DOB: 1-11-09

She has a Bismark heifer born 2-11-11 at 74 pounds.

We will be showing and selling 2 heifers, 1 bull and a cow/calf pair in East Lansing on April 1&2, 2011.

Fairs

Natalie Huntoon won Reserve Champion at the Jackson County Fair. He was a Northern Improvement out of a Mossy Oak dam. She shared her moment with Ed, Paul and Jeannine Dawson. Nice work Natalie!

The 2010 Calhoun County Fair was Makayla Baker's first time showing at a fair. She won Reserve Champion with this Irish Whiskey calf. Way to go Makayla!!!

We had 4 calves show at the fair this summer. Two won Reserve Champion ribbons. We were very pleased with those results. The 4H kids all put in a lot of time and effort.

Summer

It is a little foggy this morning. When it clears the temperature is predicted to rise to about 90.

Bull 31 is a sample of the 2010 bull crop.

She is a pure angus heifer who posed nicely for her picture.

This steer is a son of the Charolais bull, Yellowjacket.

This Heat Wave steer is a maternal brother to the 2009 grand champion steer in Calhoun County.

This Point Taken little girl is a nice crossbred show heifer.

The calves grow very quickly. By the time photos are taken and posted, the calves have grown even more.

Bulls

The bulls have been sold at the MSU bull test and the MSU Expo. We were pleased with our bulls performances at the test station. All sold in the top half of the sale. Our Crossover bull at the Expo was one of the top selling Angus bulls of the day.
